While we hope that every store using our Wishlist Guru app enjoys a seamless experience without the need for uninstallation, we understand that circumstances may necessitate its removal. However, due to limitations imposed by Shopify upon uninstallation, our access to your store is revoked, presenting a challenge in completely clearing our footprint.
So, we’ve documented the steps you can take to eradicate any remnants of the Wishlist Guru app from your store.
Remove Wishlist Guru app-associated files #
Step 01: Navigate to the Shopify Admin Console and go to Online Store > Themes > Edit Code.
Step 02: Search for the file with the following names:
a) page.sharedWishlist.liquid
b) page.wishlist.liquid
Step 03: Click on the delete icon to delete each file from your store.
Remove Wishlist app-generated pages #
Now we need to delete the pages that are created by our wishlist app to delete those pages follow the given steps below:
Step 01: Navigate to the Shopify Admin Console and go to Online Store > Pages.
Step 02: Find the pages with the following name:
a) wishlist
b) shared wishlist
Step 03: Click on the checkbox of these pages and below find the Actions button to delete these two pages from your store.
NOTE*: If your store has undergone any customizations, it’s important to address those as well. For example, you may have put the custom code for the wishlist icon in your header menu then you have to navigate to that file within your theme’s code editor. Here, search for any instances of “<span id=”custom-wishlist-icon”></span>” and remove any other associated code related to the Wishlist Guru app. Additionally, on collection pages, locate the liquid file responsible for rendering icons/buttons in collections.
By following these steps diligently, you should be able to completely remove the app from your store. However, if you find that remnants of the app persist after these actions, please feel free to reach out to us via email for further assistance.
